What is 'C'

'C' stands for capacity. Since capacity definition is different at different rates of discharge (see Peukert's Equation), it is useful to be talk about capacity at a specified rate of discharge. Thus the C10 rate of a battery is defined as the charge or discharge current in amperes that is numerically
equal to the rated capacity of a cell in ampere-hours at the 10 hr rate of discharge. Then you know that when someone refers to the 3C10 rate
for a 5Ah cell would be 15 amps
